Changes are:

Upgraded to the newer Raspberry Pi4 SoC, bringing 4x more RAM and an upgraded CPU!
Added a quick release connector for Power/Ground and CAN HI/LO - no more screw terminals!
Revised housing design, mounting measurements and locations are the same as previous, So no changes to clusters or mounting hardware will be required.
Retail price has increased, reflecting the price of the upgraded hardware and increasing component costs.

Q: WiFi login

The V5 uses login “root” with no password

The V4 uses login “pi” with password “raspberry”

Q: Boot up

V5 does NOT play a boot video, but still has a customizable logo during boot up.

V5 boots 1-2 seconds quicker.

Q: Are there two different versions of the software now? Does software support stop for V4?

A: No, we have implemented Yocto. Our software can now be pushed to multiple different hardware platforms/architectures from the same base code.

Q: Will there be an upgrade path from V4 to V5 so I don’t have to buy a whole new dash?

A: We are aiming to offer an upgrade option in early 2023.
